If you're interested in the world of cosmetic surgery, you'll know that the industry has experienced a number of very successful years recently, especially in Asia, USA and the UK. While I begrudgingly admit that part of this success is because plastic surgery is more mainstream in the media and because celebrities are changing people’s perspective, I also believe that the rise is because practices have evolved for the better, and cosmetic procedures are much safer than they’ve ever been, and deliver much better results!

With that in mind, it was very interesting to read a study by WhatClinic that revealed what the most popular and most demanded cosmetic procedures were in the UK last year; the results show that cosmetic surgery in the UK (even if it’s just ‘tweakments’) is more popular than ever.

Breast implants remain popular

Perhaps unsurprisingly, breast implants were the most popular aesthetic request in 2015, just like they were in 2014, and demand for them also rose by 183% in 2015. Liposuction was the second most popular procedure in the UK in 2015, and demand for the operation rose 167%, closely followed by tummy tucks, rhinoplasties and fat transfer procedures. It was interesting to note that labiaplasty and gynecomastia procedures were more popular that facelifts in the UK last year.

In terms of surgical procedures that have seen the biggest increase in enquiries, breast reconstructive surgery recorded a 263% increase in 2015, while breast reduction procedures followed closely with a 212% increase. However, the fasting growing cosmetic procedure of 2015 was a full abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), with enquiries increasing by a whopping 351%.

Despite the UK’s love of breast surgery, other cosmetic procedures also saw their demand increase; arm lift surgery enquiries rose by 252% in 2015 and are predicted to become one of the most popular procedures this year, while butt lift and calf implant enquiries increased by 202% and 181% respectively.

Non-surgical procedures continue to rise

In terms of non-surgical cosmetic procedures, dermal fillers were the most popular in 2015, and demand for them rose by 113%, closely followed by mole removal and lip augmentation procedures, which both saw demand rise by 114%. However, the fastest growing non-surgical procedure in the UK last year was the thread lift, with requests increasing by 470%. Chin augmentation procedures also rose in popularity, with demand rising by 156% in 2015; overall, enquiries for non-surgical procedures in the UK last year rose by 23%.

Breast surgery at Harley Street Aesthetics

I’m not surprised to see that breast implants were the most popular cosmetic procedure in 2015 as demand for them has continued to rise for a number of years now. Here at Harley Street Aesthetics, I offer a range of breast surgeries which can help you achieve the desired look you’re after. My breast lift surgery is perfect if you’re happy with the size of your breasts but just want to improve their shape or stop them dropping, while my breast implant (augmentation) procedure is ideal if you’re after bigger, fuller breasts. I also offer breast reduction surgery, which is the best option for women who have large breasts which may be causing chest, neck or back pain.

As one of the best cosmetic surgeons in London (as stated by Tatler), I have developed a range of signature procedures and truly believe that my Split-Muscle Breast Augmentation procedure is perfect for anyone considering breast implants. Unlike many typical augmentation procedures, my signature surgery takes advantage of the epipectoral and sub pectoral chest muscles to ensure that scarring is kept to a minimum, and that the breasts have a naturally-curved appearance as opposed to the common ‘tennis ball’ like appearance.
