Plastic surgery for men

Plastic Surgeon Dr Dirk Kremer comments:

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons recently released numbers indicating that the number of men seeking surgical rejuvenation is on the rise – a trend mirrored in the UK.  Until relatively recently, plastic surgery has been the domain of women but, thanks to the swell of baby boomers reaching their 50’s and 60’s, an increasing number of men are looking to turn back the clock. I have personally seen a rise in my practice of men looking for help for various reasons – some feel pressure to compete with youngsters at work, whilst others may seek a little boost for their relationship.  Whatever the reason, the most popular procedures are facelifts, eyelid surgery, nose reshaping, body sculpting, lower face and neck rejuvenation and tummy tucks.

There has also been a huge leap in the number of men seeking to downsize their ‘moobs’, or man boobs. Gynaecomastia can be a major embarrassment for many men and it is not always possible to shift these fat pockets with a combination of diet and the gym.  Scarring can be an issue with surgical correction of gynaecomastia, so I try to avoid the knife when dealing with this problem, instead favouring laser fat removal.
The Vaser Lipolysis system gives a great result as it allows me to carefully sculpt the male chest, whilst the effects of the laser causes the surrounding skin to shrink.
